Headphone Indicator is a GNOME Shell extension that provides a status indicator for headphones.
It also has the ability to automatically mute playing songs when the unplugging the headphones.
To install this extension you must have GNOME Shell installed or Cinnamon. However, keep in mind that it has not been tested with Cinnamon.
