The NetTools Filemaker Pro plugin provides FileMaker database designers with tools to download data from any Web site (using http/https), submit web forms, uploaded files to websites. The FTP functions enable transferring data to or from your database records and local files, deleting remote files or directories, as well as creating same. All standard FTP client functions supported (active/passive, ascii/binary transfers). It also includes a Telnet client (ssh is almost finished), the ability to lookup domain name registration information through whois servers, and IP/hostname resolution.
Fully supports FileMaker 7 Client and now translates downloaded text from their native encoding to one suitable for Filemaker.
Some of the ways the NetTools FileMaker Pro plugin is being used include updating web pages from database records, transferring online form submissions or online web store data back to FileMaker, looking up dynamic data from web sites (stock quotes, phone numbers, postal address standardization, search engine results, et al.), and exchanging XML data with other servers.
