Lumen

Lumen can be considered a stripped-down version of Laravel, one of today's most loved, used, and respect PHP MVC frameworks.

It only provides support for basic operations like database interfacing, resource routing, data caching, data validation, and job queuing leaving the rest in the hands of third-party modules and libraries.

By covering only the absolute necessary tasks needed to get a Web app up and running, developers keep the core code of their app down, which indirectly helps with compilation and page delivery speeds.

This produces high-grade results and enables developers to optimize their websites to the bone.

Since Lumen is based on Laravel, support for its Laravel components is also provided, and when the application will (eventually) get more complicated, migrating to the Laravel core can be done without too many code changes.
