Ampersand.js is based on how Backbone.js works on the client-side, bringing some of the same principles to the server-side environment of Node.js.
This loosely-coupled and modular framework was created not only to adapt to any type of project, but be as lightweight and easy to use as possible.
There is no actual JavaScript framework core, but merely a CLI tool for Node.js, which can then be used to pull in other Ampersand.js modules into what will become the core of your application.
This simple approach might take a little bit longer to deploy than your regular full-stack Node.js frameworks, but you won't be left with tens of modules and features that you'll never use within your code either.
