Awesomplete is a very lightweight JavaScript library that comes with lots of customizable parameters for implementing basic auto-complete features for your forms.
In its most basic form, the library doesn't even need any type of JavaScript special configurations to work properly, working on top of a custom HTML5 data-* attribute, or on top of the HTML5 <datalist> tag.
But this doesn't mean you can't tweak its behavior, Awesomplete coming with quite a few useful settings.
Developers can control after how many characters to display the input alternatives dropdown, the number of maximum items to show inside it, and if to automatically select the first found suggestion.
There are also sorting and filtering controls included, letting programmers control how suggestions are shown and in which order.
Awesomplete comes with a few basic examples and usage instructions to show developers how it can be implemented.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
