MSG Viewer is software that permits a user to open and view Outlook MSG e-mails without having Outlook in user's system. To open a MSG file in the software window, select the path from the given list of the folders on the left hand side of the window. The MSG Viewer software also gives the facility to select the multiple folders containing MSG files. By selecting the folders, each of the MSG file will be displayed on the software panel. It has a feature to auto-locate the MSG file by giving the path of the folder contains the MSG file. The preview of these MSG files includes all of their properties such as e-mail id of sender, subject name, e-mail id of receiver, sent & received date & time of MSG file, and size (KB). These preview messages can be visible in various modes such as Normal view, Message Header view, Property view, HTML view, MIME view, and Attachment etc. Each of the view modes has its different tab and by clicking on any of the tab, it shows the details of that view mode. Normal view mode display the MSG file similar to Outlook including its properties like from, to, subject, Cc, Bcc, Attachments. These view modes have their own specialty and can be useful in digital forensic. The window panel of the software can be change from the default horizontal view to vertical view as per the convenience of the user.
