NWS Weather Forecast Messenger PHP Script

The NWS Weather Forecast Messenger PHP Script works by watching the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) XML feeds.

It closely follows these feeds on a regular interval and for a desired geographical area, and whenever a change is detected in the local weather forecast, it sends out a notification.

This notification can be an email, a tweet, or an SMS message.

Message templates can be customized in the script settings.

What is new in this release:

• Updated to OAuth Twitter API version 1.1 (uses SSL connection for better security).

What is new in version 2.01:

• NWS changed the data URL, this update uses the correct URL.

What is new in version 2.00:

• Added OAuth/Twitter authentication (TweetWX642) because user/password authentication is being disallowed after June 30th, 2010. See the readme.txt inside the TweetWX642 folder if you are upgrading and you use the Twitter feature.

• cURL enabled
• safe_mode off
• Twitter API credentials
