NWS Public Alert Messenger PHP Script

NWS Public Alert Messenger PHP Script works by watching the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) RSS feeds.

It checks this feed on a regular interval and when a change in its status is detected, it messages the user.

To prevent erroneous alerts, developers can set the script only to watch for a specific geographical area.

If email is not a viable notification method, the script can also work via SMS or Twitter.

Message templates can be customized in the script settings.

What is new in this release:

• Updated to OAuth Twitter API version 1.1 (uses SSL connection for better security).

What is new in version 2.00:

• Added OAuth/Twitter authentication (TweetWX642) because user/password authentication is being disallowed after June 30th, 2010. See the readme.txt inside the TweetWX642 folder if you are upgrading and you use the Twitter feature.
