The administrator can generate a live event node and add updates to the node.
These short updates auto-refresh for the site visitors, so they can watch new updates pop onto the page without hitting refresh.
Installation:
Unpack in your modules folder (usually '/sites/all/modules/')
Enable under Administer > Site Building > Modules
