PyKwiki is not your regular wiki platform.
Under the hood it works just like a static site compiler, taking local, static layout template files and compiling them into static HTML pages.
The wiki's content is all stored as Markdown content and can easily be edited via the built-in StackEdit Markdown editor.
PyKwiki also features a "recent posts" functionality, which enables it to be used as a blog whenever needed, or just to power a press release/news center section on the wiki.
A local search utility is included as well, working on the client's side, extremely fast, helping take some load of the PyKwiki core on the server side.
Because the entire PyKwiki core mainly revolves around using local flat-files, the wiki engine is extremely fast and should not present a challenge for most shared hosting environments.
Requirements:
- Markdown (Python) 2.3 or higher
- Jinja2 2.6 or higher
- PyYAML 3 or higher
