HTML5 Shiv is an evolution from Remy Sharp's HTML5shiv script.
Just like the original, this JS library will enable developers to utilize modern code in their applications and have it properly rendered out inside older IE browsers where HTML5 is not supported officially.
This is done by creating a fake interface where all the modern code is interpreted and then reshaped to run properly in older browser engines.
If more features outside the spectrum of HTML5 are needed and if you need to support more browsers, then we recommend the Webshim library instead.
