Apache Calcite

Apache Calcite can take data stored in various formats and allow developers to run SQL queries on it.

The project was developed to handle the different formats users and applications sometimes provide, allowing developers to query and work with the information without constricting their output to a specific and sometimes inproper storage format.

The Calcite framework is grouped around the core code and its adaptors (JDBC, in-memory, CSV, Apache Drill, Splunk, Spark, MAT, MongoDB, etc.).

If an adaptor is not supported, just go on and create your own. The Calcite project will provide support for SQL-like features, Linq4j support, and a query parser, validator, and optimizer.

Apache Calcite was formerly known as Apache Optiq.
