autorevision

autorevision is an open source command-line tool that extracts metadata about the current revision of your software repository.

autorevision supports the following repository types: Git, Mercurial, Bazaar and Subversion. It is able to create files that contain macro and variable definitions for C++, C, Java, Python, sh, Perl, Lua, PHP and JavaScript.

What is new in this release:

• This version adds the user-set symbols VC_EXTRA and VCS_UUID as a unique repostory key.

What is new in version 1.4:

• Remove bashisms.
• Add "python" and "perl" language synonyms.
• Add m4.
• Work around unreliable return value of git diff in 1.7.9.5.
