Bitnami WildFly Stack is a free, user-friendly, easy-to-use and cross-platform graphical installer software, an all-in-one solution for anyone who wants to deploy the WildFly application runtime software on their computers, including all of its dependencies, running a mainstream operating system.
What is WildFly?
WildFly is an open source, lightweight, free and flexible application runtime that includes state-of-the-art web technologies, such as Apache, MySQL and Java, and it’s designed for web developers who want to create awesome web apps.
It is also known as the next-generation JBoss AS server, written entirely in the Java programming language and designed from the offset to be super fast with a complete J2EE (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition) stack including Java EE7.
Installing Bitnami WildFly Stack
To install the Bitnami WildFly Stack on your computer, simply download the appropriate package the corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation. All the dependencies are included in the installer, so you won’t have to install anything else in order to have a fully functional WildFly system.
Run WildFly on the cloud
Besides installing the Bitnami WildFly Stack on your computer, you can also deploy it on the cloud using the pre-built images provided by Bitnami for the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud service providers, as well as on your own web hosting platform. In addition, you can virtualize WildFly using the virtual machines provided by BitNami for the VMware and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization technologies.
The Bitnami WildFly Module
Besides the Bitnami WildFly Stack reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a native module installer that allows anyone to easily deploy the WildFly software on top of an existing Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) installation. The Bitnami WildFly Module is available for download on Softoware for the 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
