Bitnami Subversion Stack

Bitnami Subversion Stack is a free, easy-to-install, multiplatform and ready-to-run binary distribution of Apache and the Apache Subversion software, as well as its dependencies. It greatly simplifies the deployment of the Subversion software and it has been designed from the offset for people who know nothing about installing a web server or a database engine.

What is Apache Subversion?

Apache Subversion is an open source software that has rapidly become the version control standard on the Internet, and it is known to rapidly replace both similar open source and commercial solutions around the world.

Apache Subversion features versioned directories, atomic commits, efficient handling of binary files, quick branching and tagging, directory and file metadata, native client-server, minimal server and network requirements, low admin overhead, and good security.

Installing Bitnami Subversion Stack

Bitnami provides native installers for the Subversion Stack, designed to work with all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as with the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. To install Apache Subversion on your personal computer, download the package that corresponds to your machine’s architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run Apache Subversion on the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, users can run Apache Subversion on the cloud with their hosting platform or using a pre-built image for Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure. Additionally, it is possible to virtualize Apache Subversion by using the virtual machine images for VirtualBox and VMware, which are based on the latest LTS version of Ubuntu.

Is there a Bitnami Subversion Module?

Unfortunately, Bitnami does not provide a module for installing the Apache Subversion application on top of a Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server. The Bitnami Subversion Stack is the only product that Bitnami offers for deploying the Apache Subversion software and all of its runtime dependencies on a desktop computer of laptop.
