Jajuk is an open source, multi-platform and free software project that has been designed from the offset to act as an advanced jukebox application, allowing users to effortlessly organize huge collections of music files. Supports a wide range of audio file formats.

Engine features
As the engine is the most important part of the software, it is very important to mention here that it features an automatic rating system, automatic indexing of files, device synchronization, support for custom properties, support for unmounted devices, Audio-CD scanning capabilities and collection reporting.
Easy to use GUI
As mentioned, Jajuk’s graphical user interface (GUI) is easy to use and straightforward, featuring dockable views and perspectives, keyboard shortcuts, look and feel support, support for multiple languages, Wikipedia view for displaying the artist’s discography and collection stats and charts.
Player functions
Jajuk can also act as a digital DJ and features ambience management, configurable cross-fade, recursive playback, repeat, push and shuffle functionality. It can shuffle the entire music collection and provides various startup modes.
Under the hood and supported OSes
The application is written entirely in the Java programming language and using Java Swing for the graphical user interface. It is a platform independent application, supported on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
Availability and requirements
Being written in Java, Jajuk requires the latest Java Runtime Environment to be installed on the computer you wish to run the software (check the requirements section for more details). It is distributed as source and binary archives for all RPM- or DEB-based GNU/Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Linux Mint and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
What is new in this release:
- [Windows only] If upgrading to 1.10.4 from earlier release : please uninstall Jajuk first as the installer changed (your collection will remain unchanged).
- Jajuk requires Java 1.7+ to run
- A deep refresh will be proposed to you to take into account changes to tags and album covers if you upgrade from a pre-1.9 release. You can perform it manually from Devices view / right click / Force Refresh / Deep.
- [Windows or OSX in Web Start mode] The first startup will take a while (in the "Initial checkups" step), as the required mplayer executable is downloaded
- [Linux] It is strongly recommended to install mplayer if not already done to support every audio formats and to get a better sound.
