auditive (formerly audition) is an open source command-line software written in Vala using Ncurses, and designed to act as a minimalist audio player that uses Gstreamer as a backend.
auditive can play any file format supported by the Gstreamer audio codecs, it features gapless playback, it is built for fast browsing of huge folders and long playlists, and can launch players as suits or external programs.
