Airtime empowers people to manage audio archives, upload files, construct playlists, create shows, all through an intuitive and modern interface with a streamlined DJ workflow.

Plus, it's open source, free and really easy to use.

What is new in this release:

  • This version provides a stability and security upgrade.
  • It was released for World Radio Day, and has an interface translated into 11 languages and the option for users to add new translations.
  • Icecast and SHOUTcast listener statistics are now available too, as are automatically set cue-points and ReplayGain improvements.

What is new in version 2.3.0:

  • Web-based remote station management. Authorized personnel can add program material, create playlists, and schedule programming all via a web interface.
  • Automation. Airtime has a scheduler function that enables users to set shows with playlists for playback at a date and time of their choosing. Playlists can be played back multiple times.
  • Solid, fast playback. Airtime uses the open source Liquidsoap multimedia framework for clean, reliable, fast playback.
  • Open, extensible architecture. Stations are free to extend and alter all parts of the program code.

What is new in version 2.2.1:

  • This version has a number of fixes improving the performance and stability of the open source radio software from Sourcefabric.
  • Streaming was a major focus of the 2.2 release; the team has improved the fading between streams, and it is now smoother in Airtime 2.2.1.
  • Issues with the stream connection and previewing have been resolved.
  • Smart Blocks, which let DJs and Station Managers fill a block of time with audio according to parameters, have been tweaked.

What is new in version 2.2.0:

  • This version has smart playlists and new live assist modes.
  • Users can now configure and rebroadcast remote live input streams from the Web, DJ programs, or smartphone applications used by broadcast journalists.
  • Additionally, they can schedule these streams in the calendar, or schedule a ‘live' show that records from the computer's line-in.
  • Improvements to the library management improve archive searching and programming, allowing the professionals to take advantage of new FLAC, WAV, AAC, and ReplayGain support.

What is new in version 2.1.3:

  • This version adds a number of fixes improving performance of the playout engine, jQuery widgets, and streams.
  • The team and community have fixed playout engine issues and jQuery widgets not showing or incorrectly showing the past Sunday on Sunday.
  • Also fixed is dragging and dropping tracks into a live show, which could cause to Web UI to become unsynchronized from what is actually playing.
  • Users are now able to receive mono streams for Master or Show source broadcasts, and Soundcloud uploads are now working for all users.

What is new in version 2.1.1:

  • Airtime now includes live stream rebroadcasting, which allows remote broadcasters to connect to Airtime via tools such as Mixxx or Virtual DJ.
  • Airtime will rebroadcast the stream, either at a set time or in the middle of an existing broadcast with a smooth transition.
  • DJs can now edit their automated shows in realtime, even while they're on air.
  • Last second schedule changes, such as moving or adding a track, are performed with a drag-and-drop movement using the Web interface.
  • A Playout Log detailing the tracks played is now available.

What is new in version 2.0.2:

  • Airtime's Calendar display speed is now twice as fast, the dashboard is twice as fast, and the Now Playing page is up to six times faster.
  • In addition, it sorts out a couple of issues with the playout engine, works on improving the show recorder, and deals with a filename upgrade issue affecting those trying to upgrade from 1.8.2.

  • This version improves Airtime's Media Monitor, specifically the parsing of a file's metadata and the moving or renaming of ‘watch' folders.

  • The airtime-easy-install deb package will install everything needed for a working version of Airtime with a single click on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid or Debian 6.0 Squeeze through either the Ubuntu Software Center or the GDebi Package Installer.
