Zorp is an open source and modular proxy solution written in C and designed to provide users with complete control of encrypted connections.
The software can detect and stop attacks, viruses, as well as other threats, by inspecting the traffic embedded into the secure channels.
Zorp supports network traffic analysis for numerous protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SMTP, SMTPS, POP3, POP3S, Finger, Whois, and Telnet), provides highly flexible configuration, free license, encrypted channel control, content filtering, as well as complete support from an active community.
The project is certified to work with the Debian (Squeeze, unstable; (32-bit/64-bit)) and Ubuntu (Lucid, Natty, Oneiric, Precise (32-bit/64-bit) Linux operating systems.
What is new in this release:
- Proxies have been added (POP3 and SMTP).
- The program stacking feature is extended (decisions can be made about the traffic based on the result returned by an external program).
