WP-DownloadManager is a professional solution which allows editors and administrators to offer files for download on their WP blog, but still have full control how their available and who can download them.
The plugin uses a specialized interface in the WordPress admin where files can be added to the downloads center and uses PHP template tags, shortcodes and sidebar widgets to publish the files on the site's frontend.
WP-DownloadManager features lots of settings available for customization, allowing developers to control everything from the download counter, to the frontend template layouts, and up to the file icons.
Also, whenever you don't need the plugin anymore, before deactivating the plugin and deleting it from your site, there's a special option to wipe the database of any downloads-related information.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
