Wallstone Creativity Desktop

Wallstone Creativity Desktop is a free and open source distribution of Linux derived from the popular and widely used openSUSE Linux operating system, built around the controversial GNOME 3 desktop environment and bundled with a vast amount of software projects.

It’s distributed as 32-bit/64-bit Live DVDs

The Wallstone Creativity Desktop Linux operating system can be downloaded from Softoware as Live DVD ISO images, which have been designed from the offset to run on computers supporting either of the 32-bit (i686) or 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.

Boot menu à la openSUSE Linux

Beings based on the openSUSE Linux distribution, the project inherits its Live DVD boot menu, from where users can start the live system with normal configuration or in safe graphics mode, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing OS from the local drive.

Replaces KDE with GNOME

The main change between openSUSE and this community-derived flavor is that the latter replaces the traditional and productive KDE desktop environment with GNOME, using the modern GNOME Shell interface. Keep in mind though, that the default username for the live media is root without using a password.

Includes a wide range of open source software projects

The distribution includes a wide range of open source software projects, among which we can mention LibreOffice, AbiWord, Blogilo, LyX, Gnome Blog, Scribus, Bluefish, Cherry Tree, Gedit, Red Notebook, Tomboy, Markdown, Multimarkdown, Discount, Retext, Cuneiform, Tesseract, Gocr, OCRad, GimageReader, Calibre, Pandoc, HTML to Postscript, PDFChain and Sigil.

In addition, the Lilypond, Texlive, TexWorks, TexStudio, TexMaker, Darktable, Digikam, Fotoxx, Shotwell, OpenShot, Cinelrella, Blender, Img2DVJU, GIMP, Inkscape, Uniconverter, Graphics Batik, Synfig Studio, Sweet Home 3D, Librecad, Scan Tailor, Xsane, Audacity, Rosegarden, Mixxx, GnuCash, Dia, Planner, Freeplane, Project Libre, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Pidgin, Skype, Leechcraft, Wine, Swine, Mono and Gecko are also included.
