vvvP is a program designed to catalog and handle digital images.

Digital camera owners quickly learn that it is very easy to take a lot of images: they are free, after all. What quickly becomes difficult is handling those images: after some time it is almost impossible to find a particular image.

Programs like vvvP are used to handle a large number of images, so you will be able to easily find the images that you are looking for. Then you will be able to look at the images or copy them to folder in the computer, for example to give them to a friend.

vvvP is available for Windows, Linux and for OS X (Intel only). You can exchange catalogs among Windows, Linux and OS X computers, and you can connect Windows, Linux and OS X computers to the same (Windows, Linux or OS X) server. This means that you can share the same catalog among many computers connected by a network.

What is new in this release:

  • Added the timeline view. It is a quick way to browse images by date.
  • Some small fixes.

What is new in version 1.0:

  • Added color management. Now vvvP supports color profiles embedded into images.
  • File integrity check. The program can check cataloged files for changes, for examples caused by file corruption.
  • It is possible to create a list of external programs, and it is possible to open the selected images (or a copy of the images) with one of those programs using a menu. For example it is possible to open a copy of the selected image in an image editor.
  • Now the program shows number and size of the selected images in the status bar.
  • Now the program shows the image description (if any) in the status bar of the main window and of the image viewer.

What is new in version 0.95:

  • Added RAW images handling.
  • Now the image viewer uses a high quality interpolator, so images are always sharp and have a natural look.
  • When cataloging JPEG images it is now possible to use the embedded preview (if available) to create the thumbnails. This option is faster but thumbnails quality can be much lower with some cameras, so it is not enabled by default.
