VSSCopy

VSSCopy solves the complicated task of copying files that are currently open or locked by other processes. VSSCopy is a free shadow copy software utility that can be executed from the command line. VSSCopy can be executed from the command line, or through any method that passes command line arguments. Simple options allow you manage your file copy settings. VSS operates at the block level of the file system. The data copy process can be handled by the file system or by specialized hardware. Shadow Copies can be created on local and external (removable or network) volumes by any Windows component that uses this technology.
