useful.tiers.js works with the help of dropdown select lists which hold options representing categories in which the content is organized.
Only one dropdown is presented at first, but when the user selects an item from this list a secondary dropdown is created automatically showing sub-categories for this option alone.
Based on the user's choices, items from a data collection are hidden, showing only the items that are assigned to the user's selected options.
These items can be images, form fields, paragraphs, DIVs, SPANs, and any other HTML structure that can hold an HTML5 data attribute.
useful.tiers.js is ideal for adding a complex filtering system to large data collections, allowing users to find content much faster than before.
External links can be added to the data collections as well, which when clicked automatically filter the collection and pre-fill the search filters.
