Tubalr is a self-hosted Ruby script that can simplify the process of finding new (sometimes cool) music on YouTube.
The script uses the YouTube API and song tags to search the site's databases for specific keywords like music genres and artist or band names.
The Tubalr homepage is a simple collection of music genre tags which can be clicked and recent songs tagged with these terms can be shown as a simple YouTube playlist.
Users can easily let the Tubalr app started and the songs will automatically play one after the other.
Additionally a band/artist name search field is also included, allowing users to also narrow down the playlist to specific names and terms.
Reddit integration is also included, allowing users to load YouTube playlists with recent songs posted to popular Reddit topics.
