The SkipTo WordPress plugin implements the original SkipTo JavaScript library, carefully packed for usage inside WP installations.
SkipTo is a JavaScript library developed by PayPal's team to provide a simple way of skipping to various portions of the page via skipnav links.
This is very useful for users utilizing a screen reader to navigate the page, allowing them to easily jump from one section to the other using a simple dropdown menu.
To help WordPress webmasters configure and adapt SkipTo to their sites, the plugin also comes with a configuration page available in the WordPress admin panel settings section.
Here, admins can select which heading levels to show in the menu, the ARIA landmarks to display, and what custom navigation elements with custom classes and IDs to include inside the dropdown.
Besides the pure JS and WP version, the library is also available as a Drupal module as well.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
