ScrollMenu works by hiding the scroll bar and replacing it with small thin bars.
These bars are used for three purposes. The first is to visually represent the sections in which the current page has been split. The second is to show a shadow element overlaid on top of these bars, signifying the viewport's position over them. And the third is to allow users to easily click on one bar and automatically be scrolled to that section.
ScrollMenu bars can optionally be made to expand sideways and show a preview of what each section holds, either by showing an image, text, or both.
Touch gestures and mobile devices are supported, along with the ability to build this kind of menus in both vertical and horizontal formats.
ScrollMenu is basically a beautified scroll-spy system, and one of its best features is its ability to work with both native scrolling and/or with custom scroll plugins (iScroll and Nicescroll supported).
The plugin can be used when building one-page websites, portfolios, or image galleries.
Examples and usage instructions are included with the download package.
