The distro is distributed as multi-language Live DVD ISO images of approximately 1GB in size each, designed for both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures. The KDE Plasma desktop environment used in this Salix OS Live edition uses a single taskbar on the bottom edge of the screen from where the user can effortlessly launch applications, cycle between virtual workspaces and interact with running programs or the system tray functions.Default applications include the Krita digital painting utility, Okular document viewer, QupZilla web browser, Wicd network manager, KMail email client, KGet download manager, ISO Master CD image editor, K3b CD/DVD/BD burning software, Clementine audio player, Dragon Player video player, and Calligra office suite.
