Breakpoints are viewport width values where the page's layout needs to change, before breaking and making a mess out of the content.
The Rubberband plugin sets up a system to create and detect when breakpoints are triggered, so layout changes can be activated via JavaScript.
It works in conjunction with CSS 3 media queries and is able to detect when the browser enters a breakpoint and when it exits it.
Rubberband should be a mobile developer's best friend, since it allows them more in-depth control over responsive layouts, control they don't natively have using only CSS 3.
A sample page is included with the plugin's package.
