Principal Plan lets you enter checks, credit card purchases and other transactions into accounts. But, unlike the other programs, it is based on the Envelope System. At the heart of the system is a list of envelopes. Money is allocated to the envelopes whenever a deposit is made. Money is withdrawn from envelopes whenever it is spent. You can see how much money is available for any envelope category just by looking at the envelope in the list.
