PowerTicker

PowerTicker is a specialized web browser that queries financial websites around the world and reformats the information it receives as an animated stock ticker and a collection of concise reports. The built-in portfolio manager uses the latest available stock quotes to calculate the current value of your investments; even your international holdings are automatically converted at the current exchange rate and tallied in your currency of choice. One integrated package lets you monitor how much your holdings gain or lose over time, recognize buying opportunities, spot problem areas before they start costing you money, even build experimental portfolios to test the water without risking your savings.

What is new in this release:

• We added a large number of stock exchanges to the list of exchanges you can track. They are in Europe: Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Lisbon, Vienna, and Virt-X; in Asia and Oceania: Bangkok, Bombay, Calcutta, Hong Kong, India (NSI), Jakarta, Korea, Kuala Lumpur, New Zealand, Shanghai, Taiwan, and Taiwan OTC; in South America: Buenos Aires, Caracas, Lima, Sao Paolo, and Santiago; and in the Middle East: Tel Aviv.
• We've added the currencies required to support these exchanges.
• We've added quick links from the Tools button to Edgar reports and graphs for American stocks and SEDAR reports for Canadian stocks.
• We added a Quick Quote feature which allows you to quickly look up the value for a stock without having to add it to your list of stocks.
• We added a Currency Converter which allows you to quickly convert any amount of money from one currency to another.
• We added a new preference to portfolios so that, if you have sold all your shares in a company, it no longer appears in the portfolio display.
• We changed references to the Toronto Stock Exchange to reflect their recent amalgamation with CDNX. The old TSE 300 is now known as the S&P/TSX Composite Index, and we've changed this default in the Indexes dialog.
• We've expanded the layout of the Summary to optionally include the details and the news headlines for any security you select. To change your display, click on the Toggle View button in the title bar.
• During an update, a dot to the left of the company name in the Summary now indicates which securities are still in the process of being updated. These indicators disappear as each update is received. We also added an update button to the Summary window.
• We've added alerts on currency exchange rates.
• Base Currency has been moved to the Portfolio Settings. Once you set the Base Currency for a Portfolio and begin to fill out the ledger, you should not change the base currency without then correcting each ledger entry to reflect the new Base Currency.
• Each large report window now remembers which tab you last chose.
