The CSS 3 'filter' property allows applying complex image effects for images or blocks of text.
This property is relatively new, very complex and unsupported in older browser versions.
Polyfilter is a JavaScript library that will allow rendering the same effects of the CSS 3 filters, only via the JS engine.
Polyfilter is framework agnostic, meaning it can be used with or without a big JavaScript library. Nevertheless, Polyfilter was already tested with jQuery.
Multiple demos are included with the download package.
Be sure to use a browser sniffing tool with Polyfilter to ensure it's only loaded in older browsers where this feature is not supported by default.
