nFront Password Filter is a password policy extension and enforcement tool that prevents the use of weak, easily hacked passwords. nFront Password Filter allows network administrators to create and enforce multiple password policies within a single Windows domain. Unlike fine-grained password policies, nFront Password Filter can apply much more granular password policies to groups and organizational units.
nFront Password Filter rejects non-compliant passwords before they are allowed on the network. nFront Password Filter can block words from a dictionary or wordlist. Also included is a client that lists the password rules, displays password strength and gives exact reasons for a failed password change. All configuration is done via Group Policy
nFront Password Filter is commonly used to meet the password policy requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA. It is also used to meet the password requirements of NERC CIP and PCI password rules.
nFront Password filter can be used to defend against common password crackers that use brute force attacks, dictionary attacks and rainbow tables.
