The Maskerade jQuery Plug-in supports both input masking and data validation procedures.
This means the plugin does not only show a placeholder and then automatically formats the text entered in a form field, but it will also prevent the user from entering characters that have nothing to do with the expected data.
Multiple date and time formats are supported, and the plugin also comes with various keyboard shortcuts that simplify the process of entering, changing and navigating the entered data.
The Maskerade plugin can also be localized to support various languages and local time/date variants, and will also allow developers to show either a placeholder at page load, or a pre-filled value instead.
If you want to make further changes or learn about it, Maskerade comes with a documentation page and a few basic examples to show developers how it can be implemented.
