MakuluLinux Cinnamon is a freely distributed, easy-to-use, easy-to-install, portable and open source desktop-oriented operating system based on the award-winning Debian GNU/Linux distribution and built around the beautiful, lightweight and modern Cinnamon desktop environment.

Distributed as a dual-arch Live DVD

The Cinnamon edition of MakuluLinux is distributed for free on Softoware as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that fits well on a DVD disc or a USB flash drive of 2GB or higher capacity. It has been engineered to support both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.

Offers advanced boot options

While the Live DVD boot menu has been instructed to automatically start the live system with default configuration in 20 seconds from the moment you boot the ISO image from the BIOS of a computer, you will also have instant access to various advanced boot options.

These include the ability to boot the live system in text mode, without modeset, without probe or by loading the content of the ISO image to RAM (system memory), perform a system memory diagnostic test, boot an existing OS from the local drive, as well as to access a help screen.

Choosing the MakuluLinux (default) option on the boot screen is the recommended choice for all users. It will start the live system and drop you to a login screen where you must use the makulu/makulu username and password to log in.

Beautiful and modern graphical interface powered by Cinnamon

As its name suggests, MakuluLinux Cinnamon uses the Cinnamon desktop environment, which provides users with a beautiful, traditional, user-friendly and modern graphical interface that comprises of a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where users can access the main menu, launch their favorite apps, interact with running programs, as well as to access essential system functions.

Comes pre-loaded with powerful, popular apps

Another strong point of this Linux distribution is that is comes pre-loaded with powerful, popular apps, among which we can mention Synaptic Package Manager, BleachBit system cleaner, I-Nex system information tool, Steam for Linux, PlayOnLinux Wine interface, Google Chrome web browser, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, Leafpad text editor, Audacious audio player, Kingsoft office suite, VLC Media Player, and Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client.
