LuninuX OS is an open source and completely free operating system based on the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Ubuntu, which in turn is based on the award winning Debian GNU/Linux distro.

As Ubuntu and Debian are distributed as Live DVDs, so is LuninuX OS, which comes with Live DVD ISO images for the 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.
Boot options à la Ubuntu Linux
When booting the ISO images from the BIOS of a PC, using either USB sticks or DVD discs, the user will be prompted to choose a language for the live session. After choosing your favorite language, the bootable medium will automatically start the live environment in 5 seconds.
However, you can choose to start the graphical installer directly and permanently install the distribution on a local drive, perform a system memory diagnostic test, boot an existing OS from the first disk, as well as to check the integrity of the DVD media.

The GNOME-powered graphical desktop environment of LuninuX OS is clean, fast, beautiful and modern, providing users with a top panel for quick access to applications and places, as well as a dock (application launcher and task manager) located on the bottom edge of the screen.

The software collection of LuninuX OS is really great, comprised of the Mozilla Firefox web browser, Blender 3D modeller, FileZilla file transfer client, GIMP image editor, Transmission torrent downloader, Shotwell image viewer and organizer, Empathy IM client, Evolution email and calendar client, Steadyflow download manager, as well as the entire LibreOffice office suite.
In addition, the VLC Media Player, Stellarium planetarium software, Rhythmbox music player and organizer, Sound Converter audio converter, PiTiVi video editor, Cheese webcam viewer, Audacity audio editor, Bombono DVD-Video authoring software and Brasero CD/DVD burning utility are also included.

What is new in version 12.10 Beta 2:
- Great news! I have fix a few things with the previous release and now have a working beta 2 release. A few application are missing but overall the build works well for daily use, the boot animation has been fix, auto login for live session now work with 10 seconds auto load for the user "luninux", internet connection, and many drivers have been added, more stable software selection, as always the installer is in the "Examples" folder on the desktop and the sideshow has been partially updated. Please download this release a soon as possible, I ensure you that you will love it.
