LinuxBBQ noX is a free and open source distribution of Linux based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system and designed from the ground up without the X.Org display server or any other X Window System. In other words, it is a bare-bones system!
Available as two different editions
There are two editions available for download for this special LinuxBBQ flavor, Virgin and Boner. They are distributed as dual-arch Live CD ISO images of approximately 300MB in size each, designed to support both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.Boot options
Default boot options on the LinuxBBQ Boner edition includes the ability to start the live environment with default settings, with support for Intel GPUs, with the VGA or nomode options, in failsafe mode, with SysV support, or by copying the contents of the ISO image to RAM.On the other hand, besides the aforementioned boot options, the LinuxBBQ Virgin edition includes the ability to start the live environment in quiet mode or in verbose mode. Both editions allow the user to run a memory test or boot from the local drive.
Includes a wide range of command-line applications
Both LinuxBBQ noX editions include the same amount of command-line applications, among which we can mention bc calculator, abook address book, tina personal manager, wordgrinder text processor, sc spreadsheet, bbqradio radio player, shell.fm Last.fm front-end, and streamripper shoutcast-compatible stream recorder.In addition, they include the moc music player, mpg123 mp3 player, Midnight Commander two-pane file manager, ranger file manager, wikipedia2text wikipedia lookup, lynx and elinks web browsers, newsbeuter RSS reader, and mutt mail client.
