Legacy OS Gamer

Legacy OS Gamer is an open-source operating system derived from the well known and lightweight Puppy Linux operating system and tailored for gamers. It features a large selection of games, a HTML5 web browser, and has been designed to be used on low-end machines, such as a Pentium III PC.

Distributed as a dual-arch Live CD

The distribution is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image of approximately 700MB in size, which means that you can use it on both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms, using a CD disc or a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity as the bootable medium.

Boot options

The boot prompt is full of useful instructions for users who want to add extra kernel parameters when booting the live operating system from the bootable medium. However, most users should wait five seconds for the automatic boot with default options and drivers, or just hit the Enter key if you’re in a rush.

Old-school desktop environment designed for legacy computers

Before entering the graphical session, you must first select a keyboard layout and display server. The desktop environment is powered by the old-school IceWM window manager, which has been designed for legacy computers and uses a single-panel layout.

Includes over 100 games

As mentioned, the main emphasis of this Legacy OS edition is on gaming, providing users with a collection of over 100 games for all ages. Among some of the most popular ones, we can mention Aleph One, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Descent 2 and PrBoom.
