jQuery animateTo is perfect for moving elements on a page in a graphical way, so the user can view and take notice of them.
Besides moving an element around, if necessary it can also be used to duplicate elements, leaving a shadow in the original position.
Developers can control if to use CSS3 or jQuery animations, the time it takes to animate the items, and if to use an easing function to smooth out the motion.
