Gnome Gmail

Gnome Gmail is software which adds support for Gmail to the Linux Gnome Desktop.

Gnome Gmail is an application that allows Gmail to be selected as the default mail application for the desktop.

Unlike other solutions on the net, Gnome Gmail supports "To:", "Subject:", "body", "CC:", and "BCC: fields, and is available in deb and rpm format.

Usage:

Download the appropriate package for your system, and double-click to install.

Go to System -> Preferences ->Preferred Applications, and select Gmail as the preferred Mail Reader.

From Firefox, select "Send Link..." to demonstrate. The page link will open in a Gmail browser window.

What is new in this release:

• This version has support for automatic setting of the preferred email application on GNOME 3 distributions.
• It builds on version 1.8, featuring support for GNOME 3, including a message indicator for Ubuntu Unity.
• Also, messages with attachments now open directly.
• GNOME Gmail adds support for Gmail to the GNOME desktop.
• Once installed, the user can select Gmail as the preferred mail application for the desktop.

What is new in version 1.7:

• Internationalization is now supported, making it possible to customize the application for foreign languages and to upload file attachments to international Gmail sites.
• Support for the Open Office "Send Document As Email" command has been added as well.
