Global custom events (or jquery.event.gevent) was developed because starting with jQuery 1.9.0, the framework's development took a radical new turn in development style, dropping some features that made it successful in the first place
jquery.event.gevent simply adds back all those features for newer versions of the jQuery framework, trying its best to keep functionality and inter-operability between the plugin code and the jQuery core intact.
The plugin was basically developed and revolves around the possibility to have a jQuery collection subscribe a function to a global custom event.
