It works with GeoIP itself, and with the GeoLite open source databases.
The COM handler comes as a DLL for usage from ColdFusion or ASP apps.
Installation:
To get GeoIP or GeoLite City to work with the new COM API, set GeoIP.set_db_path to be the directory containing GeoIPCity.dat. Rename GeoLiteCity.dat to GeoIPCity.dat for this to work.
What is new in this release:
- Replaced CS/Serbia and Montenegro with RS/Serbia, removed ZR/Zaire, added ME/Montenegro.
- Added AX/Aland Islands, GG/Guernsey, IM/Isle of Man, JE/Jersey (ISO-3166-1 changes).
- Added BL/Saint Barthelemy, MF/Saint Martin (ISO-3166-1 additions).
Limitations:
- Note that the MS COM API is only tested on 32 bit machines and may not work on 64 bit machines. To install on a 64 bit machine, copy the dll to %windir%/SysWOW64, then register the dll. If that doesn't work, ask for support on the MaxMind forums.
