Form File Upload will let developers create forms where users can grab a file from their desktop and drag it over to their browser, in a specific form section.
This automatically selects the file in a hidden upload field, which will get sent to the server when the form is submitted.
Multiple files can be added to the form, and even multiple files can be dragged over it at the same time.
The Form File Upload library is easy to implement, can restrict certain file types from being selected, can show preview thumbnails for image files, and allows the user to remove files from the form if he changes his mind at later points.
Submitting files via AJAX is also supported, and limits can be added to the number of files the user can add to the form, along with a maximum size for each file.
Form File Upload can work as a classic vanilla JS library or loaded on the page as a jQuery plugin.
A simple demo is also included with the download package.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
- HTML 5 enabled browser
- jQuery (when using it as a jQuery plugin)
