File Colony is designed to save files into file repository system in which contents of files are stored as byte stream. Users can save their files into File Colony system to protect them from suspicious software.
Users can create multiple data sources in File Colony system with different storage capicity. Licence Version of File Colony Software provides unlimited numbers of data sources and, maximum capicity of individaul file size is 2G. That means users can save unlimited numbers of 2G size files into Data source which allows 2G files. (Free version of File Colony Software allows to create 3 data sources.) Users can save files into data sources of File Colony individually or collectively. File Colony includes file-set adding funtion to add files inside selected directory and its sub-directories. File Colony also provides file loading functions so that users can launch default Word processors or Graphics processors software on their PC to view files from data sources.
File exporting function of File Colony allows users to retrieve files inside Data Sources to any locations on their PCs. It is up to users to delete original files saving into File Colony and exported files retriving from File Colony system. By default, File colony create temporary files into system when files are loaded form Data Sources and it deletes those temporary files when application is closed. Therefore, files are safely kept inside Data Sources of File Colony.What is new in this release:
In File Colony 1.2 version, different data source windows can perform data management operations more effieciently. Response time of file searching opeartion is improved and L&F (look and feel) settings is available.
