Fbdo is a small suite of complementary tools for behavioral extensions to Fluxbox , Xfce , and other light-weight window managers. Fbdo offers a plugin platform for tweaking the desktop environment. The project modifies behavior, rather than adding desktop widgets. It has minimal dependencies beyond Python. Included modules handle window alignment and tiling, process management, and wallpaper management, including per-workspace wallpaper and random wallpaper changing.
Features are packaged as modules containing exported functions which are callable as commands from the command line. The commands work well either as key or menu bindings. The following example waits for you to click on a window and then moves and resizes the selected window to fill the left side of the screen. See the Tutorial for more examples.

Most features will function with any window manager that is fully or mostly compatible with EWMH standards . Automatic configuration support is limited to Fluxbox and Xfce for now. Changes are limited to adding and updating well-marked blocks in user configuration files.
Fbdo is built on top of Cmdo (pronounced “commando”), a Python facility that converts a set of “decorated” functions to a complete command-driven environment, with full help. See the required Cmdo package for more information.
New features can be added by simply adding modules into appropriate directories.
