Fault Factory allows creating a variety of communication faults in any running application with no compile-time instrumentation or system changes. It is used to test error-handling code. Your app can receive a variety of hard-to-reproduce faults. Fault factory lets you easily reproduce conditions such as SOAP Faults, HTTP error codes and socket-level communication faults (dropped/refused connections, buffer problems, timeouts). It can be used to test your HTTP client against any pre-recorded HTTP response. The tool can inter-operate with many popular debuggers and is completely language-neutral: you can test applications written in Java, C#, C++, Python, and Perl, as soon as they are using standard windows TCP/IP stack. It is minimally intrusive: no system changes are needed. No drivers are installed. No code instrumentation needed. Your program does not have to be re-configured, so you can test on machines where you have limited permissions (production).
