Fat x Fast

Fat x Fast is an open source, freely downloadable, multiplatform and graphical software implemented in Python/PyGame and designed from the ground up to act as a 2D puzzle and labyrinth style multiplayer game.

Includes multiple gameplay modes

In Fat x Fast the player takes the role of the main character, Neckbeard, who needs to fix computers faster than ever before, by consuming excessive amounts of coffee. It features four different gameplay modes, including Classic, Timed, Practice and Multiplayer.

While the Classic Mode will offer randomly generated maze puzzles, the Timed Mode provides custom and randomly generated maze puzzles. On the other hand, the Practice Mode lets users to practice maze solving using the Page Up and Page Down keys. To play the game with a friend, use the Multiplayer Mode.

Getting started with Fat x Fast

To run the game in your GNU/Linux operating system, without installing it, use the ‘python -O FatxFast/__main__.py’ command in the root folder of the game, in a Terminal app. In Arch Linux distributions, you should use the ‘python2 -O FatxFast/__main__.py’ command to start the game.

If you want to install Fat x Fast system wide and make it available to all users on your machine, run the ‘sudo python setup.py install’ command in the root folder of the project, in a terminal emulator application.

Runs on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows OSes

Being written in Python, Fat x Fast is a cross-platform software that can be easily installed on and will work perfectly with all GNU/Linux distributions. It is also supported under Microsoft Windows operating systems, as well as Mac OS X OSes.

A quick look under the hood of the Fat x Fast project will show us that it has been written entirely in the Python programming language, using the powerful PyGame Python module, which is used to write games. The software is supported on 32 and 64-bit computer platforms, and requires the tiledtmxloader (included) and matplotlib (optional) libraries.
