The Evolutionary Surface is an evolution demonstrator an attempt to show what evolution can do even with very limited space, time and resources. Each point on the surface is a biot with its own individual genome, allowing it to fight, mate or swap places with its neighbors. Soon biot species arise and compete, and spread across the surface in intricate slow-moving multi-colored patterns. Each time a new surface is started, different genes arise and a different kind of world evolves.
This free demo version allows you to create and save new surfaces of different sizes, view them from different perspectives, and join surfaces together. Version 2 growing tips and a lot of tweaking give wider range of textures and greater longevity.
