The "dialog" jQuery plugin can be used to display HTML-formatted content inside a window floating above of the page.

The classic background overlay dimming effect can be used or disabled, and content can be stored inline with the page's HTML, or retrieved via AJAX.

The plugin is not an image viewer like most of these kind of scripts, but focused more on providing a lite alternative to modal windowing scripts, just a simple way of relaying messages back to the user.

The default "dialog" plugin styles are very minimal, letting the developer decide how these modals look through his site's native CSS.

Some examples and usage instructions are included with the download package.
