DDistrox is an open source, free and small graphical software written in UNIX Shell and designed to allow users to easily and quickly download their favorite GNU/Linux operating systems without having to search them via a web browser.

Being programmed in Bash, the DDistrox application needs very little space on the target disk drive, it’s very fast and reliable, and allows experienced users to modify it to their liking, adding support for more distributions (see the next section for supported GNU/Linux OSes).

It can download a wide range of distributions

At the moment, DDistrox can download a wide range of GNU/Linux distributions, among which we can mention Arch Linux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, Korora, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Manjaro, Linux Mint, Puppy Linux, Slackware, SLAX, SliTaz, openSUSE, and Ubuntu. Support for more Linux kernel-based operating system will be added in future updates.

Getting started with DDistrox

To get started with the DDistrox application and download your favorite distributions, download the latest release from either Softoware using the download button above, or from the project’s official website. Save the archive somewhere on your Home directory and unpack it.

Open the extracted folder and double click on the ‘ddistrox.sh’ file. The software will ask you to accept its open source license from the get-go. Then, it will present a main menu from where you can download distributions, as well as to view its documentation. At the moment, only the first option works (download).

On the next screen, you must choose the GNU/Linux operating system you want to download. Press the OK button to view a screenshot and more information about the respective distribution, then download it by pressing the “Download” button.

Only for Spanish users, supported on 32 and 64-bit computer platforms

Please note that the application is currently translated only into the Spanish language. It is supported on both 32 and 64-bit computer platforms. However, it appears the project is no longer under active development.
